Kevin is a fourth year teacher, who graduated from the University of Central Florida. He studied English and computer science, and has been programming for many years. He combines these subjects, often working on linguistics projects. He designs many assignments for his students. He considers this an important way to show students what is possible with programming knowledge.
Mr. Kevin Kelley
Kevin is a professional musician who brings a great deal of experience with graphics and print media to the team, He owned a direct mail marketing company and has a vast amount of technology experience with web design, graphics and programming. His varied experience in the arts and business, as well as teaching experience, is an asset to the program.
Mrs. Renee Dubber
Business Professionals of America Sponsor
Renee is a National Board Certified teacher who has been teaching in the Florida Public School System for the past 20 years working primarily with Title 1 schools and at risk youth. Prior to teaching she worked in corporate marketing and has continued to do contract work for various businesses while teaching. Ms. Dubber also is the advisor for our Business Professionals of America Club which has grown to 80 students in the past four years. She is a certified Microsoft Office Specialist and brings a great deal of technology experience to the program. Her extensive work with at risk youth, combined with her teaching experience and numerous certifications, make her an asset to the Mass Media CAPE Academy.
Mrs. Heather Keenan
Heather Keenan earned her education and business degree from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. She has 25 years classroom teaching experience in both states, at both the secondary and post secondary level. She has been teaching in Seminole County for over 15 years, and has published 15 high school yearbooks and over 10 years of newspapers. Keenan is a Certified Journalism Educator (CJE) and a Adobe Certified Educator.
Mr. Daniel Harris
TV Production Advisor
Mr. Daniel Harris is the TV Production teacher at Seminole. He works with students to design programs such as the school news which airs everyday.
Mrs. Ira Klages
Mrs. Ira Klages holds a Bachelor of Science from University of North Florida with a focus on Cognitive Science and minors in Information Science and Film Studies. They have 8 years of experience in user-side technical support, working with the UNF ITS department, and Apple Retail. They have been a freelance designer for over 10 years, designing for print, web, textiles, and interactive media. Ira enjoys teaching classes where students get to create great things!
Mrs. Hayley Calhoon
Mrs. Hayley Calhoon brings both industry and teaching experience to the Mass Media program. Prior to transitioning to education, she held Public Relations & Marketing roles within the restaurant and hotel industries - focusing on brand management, socialmedia, and graphic design. She attended the University of Central Florida, earning a Master's Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. She utilizes her marketing experience to help students understand the real-world application of the skills and knowledge they are learning. Hayley is a certified Microsoft Office Specialist and an Adobe Certified Associate Visual Design Specialist.
